  Brian Murphy

Brian Murphy

Brian Murphy is a Vice President at Coyne PR and leads the toy and juvenile products group which includes Toys“R”Us, Babies“R”Us, Hasbro Games and Crayola.  An eleven year industry veteran, Brian is a consumer media specialist with experience in the toy, apparel and accessory, electronic, sporting goods, juvenile products and home and garden categories.  Brian also has extensive knowledge of the licensing industry having represented some of the most well-known entertainment and corporate brands.  
 While at Coyne PR, Brian has helped develop and execute some of the agency’s most successful public relations programs.  In 2009, Brian led the campaign on behalf of Hasbro Games for the 60th birthday celebration of Candy Land.   The campaign was highlighted by the famous Lombard Street in San Francisco being turned into a giant Candy Land game board.  The event generated more than 1,500 placements and 186 million impressions.  Highlights included “The Early Show,” “Fox & Friends,” CNN Headline News, ABC “World News Now,” The Weather Channel, USA Today and the Associated Press

 

In 2008, Brian spearheaded the efforts to help celebrate the 50th birthday of one of America’s most iconic products – the Crayola 64 Box. Overseeing the big birthday bash, the event garnered over 270 national and local market broadcast placements which included feature segments on “The Early Show,” “Fox and Friends,” CNBC’s “Fast Money” and ABC “World News Now.” Later that year, Brian led the agency’s venture into theater as he helped introduce the media to Hasbro’s newest collections of games – Noodleboro – through a thirty minute three act play.  Complete with professional actors, stage design and a playbill, the play was attended by numerous national media outlets including “Today,” American Baby and Cookie magazine.

 

Additionally, since 2006, Brian has led campaigns on behalf of Toys“R”Us for such key initiatives as the company’s partnership with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, the Toy Guide for Differently-Abled Kids, Black Friday and Holiday.  Results included dozens of national placements including USA Today, The New York Times, “Good Morning America,” Associated Press, Bloomberg and Reuters and hundreds of local market print and broadcast placements in such key markets as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Detroit.  
  
Prior to joining Coyne, he was an account supervisor with Alan Taylor Communications in New York, where he spearheaded programs for such global accounts as MasterCard, Diageo and Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP). He also led the domestic PR campaign for worldwide Olympic partner Panasonic during the Torino Games, which included numerous domestic and on-site activities with Olympic Gold Medalist Picabo Street.
 
Before Alan Taylor, Brian was an account supervisor at Freeman Public Relations where he developed and executed the PR campaigns for a variety of clients, including Fisher-Price, Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Jeep (licensed merchandise).
