As Director, Corporate & Government Affairs, Jean Gould has over two decades of corporate affairs experience and has managed legislative and regulatory issues at the state, national and international levels. She provides counsel to clients on a wide variety of public affairs and government relations issues.
Prior to joining Coyne, Jean directed corporate affairs activities for Exxon’s operations in Latin America and Africa. During her tenure, she successfully managed the public affairs campaign for a $3.5 billion energy project in Sub-Sahara Africa which required the participation of the World Bank and other multi-lateral institutions.
Jean served as a lobbyist representing Exxon Corporate in Washington, D.C., managing public policy and international business issues for activities in Asia, Africa and Latin America. At the state level, she formulated external relations strategies for Exxon’s interactions with governments, communities and the media. She managed grassroots campaigns in key states to defeat federal energy tax legislation and directed crisis communications for operational incidents.
Jean received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, her MBA from the University of Houston and a Master of Science of Global Affairs from New York University, concentrating on international business and economics.
