James “Max” De Filippis joined the New York City-based Coyne team in February 2008, bringing with him over 10 years of public relations experience.
Prior to joined Coyne, he served as a Senior Account Executive for Catalyst Public Relations in their Charlotte, North Carolina bureau. In his 2 ½ years with Catalyst, he was responsible for overseeing and supervising several of Catalyst’s sports and consumer PR platforms including The Ford Ironman World Championship, Timex, CMT’s broadcast of the movie “Dale” and others.
De Filippis spent over five years at Alan Taylor Communications where he managed and played a vital role in key sports brands such as TENNIS Magazine, NASCAR, TicketsNow and Duofold. In those roles, he served as a primary day-to-day contact and helped supervise all day-to-day media relations efforts.
He also got his start in the public relations industry in 1997 serving as an Account Executive intern for The Sherry Group, Inc. where he played a significant role in the success of numerous PR initiatives including the Miller Lite NFL Player of the year, The A&P Tennis Classic, Avon Running Global Women’s Circuit and the AT-A-GLANCE Millennium Tour.
A native of Wayne, NJ, De Filippis earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from William Paterson University (Wayne). He is a devoted triathlete who will be competing in the 2008 Ford Ironman World Championship on October 11.
