Kathleen Hamilton brings more than two decades of automotive experience to Coyne Public Relations clients. Writing and editing for her hometown newspaper since the age of thirteen, she delivers the art and science of storytelling to Coyne’s automotive clients and to the journalists they want to reach. She began working with some of the foremost automotive journalists as an editor at Automotive News, where she rose to the position of managing editor, and later as senior editor and executive editor at Automobile Magazine, where she won the prestigious Ken Purdy award for automotive writing.

A new member of the Coyne team, she furnishes a corporate insider’s viewpoint and experience, from launching new models to reviving an iconic brand, environmental issues management, crisis communications, employee communications, speechwriting, and communications strategy. She was North American Communications Manager of Jaguar Cars, Northeast Product Public Relations Manager of Ford Motor Company and Northeast Communications Manager of General Motors.

She joined Jaguar shortly after its acquisition by Ford, and was instrumental in repositioning the brand’s image as a builder of quality luxury automobiles. Highlights included launching a new generation of sports car by emphasizing Jaguar’s design leadership, as evidenced by The Museum of Modern Art’s placement of the E-Type in its permanent collection.

She expanded her expertise among design and fashion media at Ford, where she established the company’s first dedicated outreach to the many lifestyle media outlets based in New York City.

She also worked extensively on the launch of the TH!NK line of electric cars for Ford. Her experience in the field of alternative-propulsion vehicles expanded during her independent public relations consultant practice and again at General Motors, where she publicized ethanol, hybrid, electric and hydrogen vehicles.
