To raise awareness for the Disney Cruise Line “Marvel Day at Sea” sailings out of New York City, Coyne PR worked with Disney to host a week-long media blitz, including a Marvel-themed media happy hour with the entire Hearst Digital team to showcase key elements unique to the Marvel Day at Sea itineraries. Conveniently bringing Disney’s legendary crew of Super Heroes right to the Hearst publishing house, the immersive “Marvel Hour” featured hand-mixed cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres and décor inspired by the specialty sailings. In addition to generating interest and excitement for the all-new voyages aboard the Disney Magic, the event provided an opportunity to foster strong relationships with key writers and editors, ultimately inspiring them to keep Disney Cruise Line top-of-mind for future coverage.
The Disney Fantasy arrived in New York, receiving a grand welcome from Good Morning America’s Sam Champion during a dedicated segment. Over the next three days, top-tier media, travel agents and special guests from across the country came to experience the Fantasy’s vast offerings. The festivities culminated when the ship was christened by Godmother Mariah Carey during a star-studded gala hosted by Neil Patrick Harris with numerous special guests.
