Playmates Toys

Playmates Toys, the company behind the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line, enlisted Coyne to help bring back the heroes in a half shell for a new generation of fans. Over the years, Coyne has also been charged with helping to launch additional product lines from Playmates Toys based on hit entertainment properties including Ben 10, Voltron, Power Players, Disney Frozen 2 and more.

Playmates 1 — Coyne PR developed a comprehensive support plan to bring back the nostalgic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line. The toy line made its debut at Toy Fair, where media, including the loyal collector community were first given an in-depth look at the new Turtles action figures, vehicles and more. To continue the momentum, Coyne then executed an aggressive media relations campaign, timed to the key holiday shopping season. Coyne capitalized on the nostalgic brand appeal of the Turtles, targeting widespread media outlets.

playmates-2 — Coyne helped introduce a new generation of fans to the Ben 10 franchise with the launch of a new toy line from Playmates Toys. The team implemented a comprehensive media relations campaign timed to when the product was available at retail, which included extensive outreach to short-lead media outlets for product reviews and unboxing videos on YouTube.

Playmates Tmnt — To help celebrate the 35th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), Playmates Toys called on Coyne PR to develop and manage an exclusive event during New York Toy Fair with Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the original TMNT comic book. During the event, Eastman spoke about the evolution of the iconic Turtles franchise over the years and introduced the latest toy line from Playmates Toys, which was inspired by Nickelodeon’s newest animated series. Over 80 media members attended, where they were also given an opportunity to ask questions and they received a comic book signed by Eastman.
