Today it was announced that Brian Murphy, Sr. Vice President of Coyne PR, was named to the Board of Directors of the Kean University Foundation. Founded in 1984, the Kean University Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt organization that serves as the university’s primary fundraising and gift-receiving organization.

As a seasoned communications professional with more than twenty years of experience, Murphy will leverage his expertise in integrated communications to help the Kean University Foundation realize its mission. At Coyne PR Brian has overseen some of the agency’s most successful public relations initiatives including support of the massive $400 million DAYTONA Rising redevelopment project that transformed the Daytona International Speedway into the world’s first motorsports stadium.

“We are excited to have Brian join our board of directors,” said Bill Miller, Chief Executive Officer, Kean University Foundation. “His extensive experience as a public relations professional will have an invaluable and positive impact as we continue to advance our mission to secure resources for Kean University.”

Over the past decade, the Kean University Foundation has raised millions of dollars that have been used to support Kean’s students, faculty, programs, and/or facilities. As a member of the Foundation’s board, Murphy will be tasked with continuing the boards work to achieving Kean’s mission of providing an affordable, accessible, and world-class education that prepares students to think and respond critically and creatively in a rapidly changing world. Additionally, Murphy will work with other board members to help set the overall direction of the Foundation, provide oversight, and ensure the Foundation has the necessary resources needed to develop consistent, creative, and high-quality donor experiences.

“Kean University, its professors and staff really helped pave the way for me to be where I am today,’ said Murphy. “I’m both humbled and honored to be joining the board and I look forward to working with the other board members to help drive the foundation forward in its quest to be known and celebrated across campus for its excellence in fund development.”
