The summer travel season is a critical time of year for Hilton’s largest hotel brand. To help drive consumer consideration for Hampton by Hilton and tie in with the brand’s “Real Travel” marketing campaign, Coyne developed the Hampton Real Travel Road Trip Hotline. Leveraging the expertise that comes with being a vacationer favorite and survey data on Americans’ road trip habits, Hampton launched a hotline to help smooth over some of consumers’ most stressful road trip moments. Iconic TV personality Alfonso Ribeiro served as the hotline spokesperson, offering lighthearted advice to vacationers on everything from car troubles to squabbles with fellow passengers. The team put the pedal to the metal with media as the program generated more than 300 placements and nearly 385 million impressions. More importantly, 100 percent of media coverage contained “Real Travel” campaign messaging, keeping the brand top-of-mind with consumers and retaining its category leadership position during the key summer travel months.
