WebMD

Fitting into the crowded conversation on childhood obesity is no small task, but Coyne PR found a place all our own to launch WebMD’s first pediatric platform by revealing “The New Talk” – that for parents, talking to their kids about obesity is more difficult than discussing sex, drugs and alcohol.

We partnered with author and child psychologist Dr. Susan Bartell, and hosted a media and influencer event introducing the findings from a campaign-specific study on this difficult discussion between parents and kids. We arranged multiple deskside briefings for influencers, including experts from: the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University; the Center for Science in the Public Interest; and the American Academy of Pediatrics. The topic made national headlines, brought a new context to the conversation on childhood obesity, and moved WebMD to the head of the class as a trusted resource for parents and kids.
